There are all kinds of plants, vehicles, discarded objects, and more populating Washington Square Park. Check out the map below to see a few objects I catalogued on my first visit.

If you've ever been to Washington Square Park, you know there are all kinds of smells, sights, sounds, and sensations to observe. On my next visit to the park, I chose to focus on texture and sound.

This is a graph of various sounds I heard, organized by volume and pleasantness.


This graph shows different places to sit around Washington Square Park, organized by temperature and pleasantness.



Finally, I wanted to take a look at how people use Washington Square Park, what they do there, and what all this data says about the space.


I noticed that parkgoers seem to enjoy hanging out on the park benches more than anywhere else. I counted over two hundred individuals, pairs, or groups on the benches!
