I wanted to learn more about medieval European-style castles, so I traveled to Central Park to get a close look at Belvedere Castle. These are a few of the images I took while there. I tried to focus most of my attention on the architecture but ended up getting distracted and looking at other things as well.
I made a map of the castle and placed on it where I took each of those photos.
During my second trip to the castle, I was able to hone in on what I wanted to observe and compare. I ended up looking at different castle surfaces and categorizing them from roughest to smoothest surfaces.
Something I noticed right away while strolling through a medieval-style location was all the modern objects that stood out. I put some of the things I saw on a gradient from modern to medieval.
For my final project, I recorded the number of ducks in the pond and people at the castle visible from the balcony vantage point for an hour.
