Where is Vessel?

Vessel is an architecture structure located at Hudson Yards.

Imagined by Thomas Heatherwick and Heatherwick Studio as a focal point where people can enjoy new perspectives of the city and one another from different heights, angles and vantage points.

However due to several suicide incidents that occurred during 2021, the Vessel has been temporately closed.

What's around Vessel?

Although it's closed, people still go there to enjoy fresh air, food and sunlight, so as the animals.

And animal behaviors are always neglected.

I have no days and nights, but they all left me at the same time; I have no family or friends, but they’re all gathered around me pretending to be kind.

I can’t see my body, but I can feel the juices flowing; there is a heat coming from my palm, though I have no neurons to receive the signal; I feel shame not because they are mocking, but because I know they are, I am just not there.

Nobody told me that I would be stuck in here for so long. Although I should be grateful for my creator’s generosity, I hated him since the day when he gave me eyes that could not see and feet that could not land. I know everything about my world, color, density, moisture, and heat. But no gravity. How curious, not that I need one.

I tried one time. I tried to talk to them, to those that I know have been gazing at me from the day I’ve been created. Every inch of my muscle vibrates when I turn my head, the sun and the moon chasing each other right in front of me so fast that every second I lose it’s a week to the world.

Animals are picking whatever people left behind. The most frequently seen types of animal around the Vessel are squirrel, bird and pigeon.
