⯈ Lower East Side, Manhattan, NYC
The Waypoint Cafe is an internet and esports cafe in New York City. Located on Ludlow Street in the Lower East Side, they have 30 PCs that can be rented out for online and solo gaming, as well as plenty of card games and tournaments to enjoy as well.
I chose the Waypoint Cafe for my research location as I love both gaming and coffee shops. Its (dangerously) close proximity to the SVA Ludlow Dorm also provided easy access for research as well as enjoyment after a busy day.
Grab a drink and enjoy your stay!
The Waypoint Cafe has two major areas: a regular coffee shop, and a section for computer gaming.

The Waypoint Cafe attracts a lot of attendees to its various events and tournaments.
I'll be honest, I get overwhelmed easily and although I'm always enjoying myself here, I get overstimulated with a lot of sound. I did what any normal person would do and organized these overwhelming moments on a graph.
Honestly, I love eavesdropping, and I love keeping lists of out-of-contexts things I overhear in public. In a setting where people are chatting with others both in-person and over gaming headsets, you tend to hear a lot of funny and strange things.
